Is google strategy just to block other tech giants?
I saw an interesting post in Hacker News about how Google’s products remained stagnant for over 10 years, losing their tech lead. How docs are inferior to Notion, Gmail is inferior to HEY, etc.
I thought about it. And about many other Google products through the years. I came to the conclusion that Google is mostly creating products to block out other tech giants from winning entire markets. Details in the post.
BLoC pattern for state management in Dart & Flutter (46:61)
This talk from “Flutter Europe” conference covers the BLoC pattern for state management. The state management pattern lives outside of Flutter as a UI framework (as Redux, Mobx, etc. lives outside the UI). It’s interesting to hear, as this pattern is unfamiliar in the JS world, mostly because certain features of Dart lang makes it more viable there.
iOS 14 security feature reveals TikTok is keylogging your
This one is nasty. It was already clear TikTok is a data tool in the Chinese government arsenal, but actively spying on your keyboard in other apps is a whole other lever.
This says far more about Apple and their focus on privacy and security features, and less about TikTok, which you don’t expect not to abuse whatever they can.
